New Wine at the Appointed Time

THE VINTAGE OF AV

"I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." The Host has a standing reservation — and a date on the calendar where the graves emptied and the daughters danced in the vineyards.

MOVEMENT I

The Day the Graves Emptied

Tu B'Av: the resurrection encoded in the festival's own founding.

The fifteenth of Av is remembered as the most joyous day of the Hebrew year — there were no days as good for Israel as the fifteenth of Av and the Day of Atonement (Mishnah Ta'anit 4:8) — and the founding tradition behind the joy is, precisely, a grave-rising. Each year of the wilderness sentence, the tradition holds, the generation dug graves on the eve of the ninth of Av and lay down in them; each morning thousands did not rise. In the fortieth year, all rose. Thinking the date miscounted, they lay down again night after night until the full moon of the fifteenth confirmed the month — and then they understood: the decree of death had ended. Av 15 is the festival of the morning the whole camp climbed out of its own graves alive.

And what they did with the joy completes the day's grammar: the daughters of Jerusalem went out in borrowed white garments — so that none be shamed — and danced in the vineyards, and the betrothals were made. Death's decree expired; the graves emptied; the response was espousals among the vines at the season the grapes ripen. Resurrection, betrothal, vintage: the day has carried all three since before the kingdom of David. The marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev 19:9) has had a rehearsal on the calendar the whole time. MOVEMENT II

Gleukos: The Wine That Skips the Vat

Unfermented is the whole point — incorruptible content for incorruptible skins.

At Pentecost the mockers said these men are full of new wine — and the Greek is gleukos: fresh-pressed, sweet, unfermented (Acts 2:13). The mockery was accidentally precise. Fermentation is leaven's slow work in the dark of the cask — corruption harnessed; gleukos is the grape's yield before any corruption process touches it. Now run the wineskin saying through the resurrection chapter: new wine into new bottles (Matt 9:17) — kainos wine into kainous skins, new-in-kind content into new-in-kind vessels — beside this corruptible must put on incorruption (1 Cor 15:53). Incorruptible wine in incorruptible skins is a resurrection formula wearing vintner's clothes. And the Host's reservation specifies the vintage: until that day when I drink it new — kainon — with you in my Father's kingdom (Matt 26:29). The toast is scheduled for after the skins are replaced, and he has announced he drinks it in company.

Cana is the type-scene, and its genre is Tu B'Av's genre: a wedding. The Virgin announces the deficit — they have no wine (John 2:3) — and the answer is water made wine without fermentation: instantaneous vintage, gleukos by miracle, the governor of the feast tasting wine that skipped the vat entirely and ruling it the best: thou hast kept the good wine until now. The good wine kept until now is the whole eschatology of this exhibit in six words, spoken by a steward who did not know what he was quoting.

MOVEMENT III

Av 1 to Av 15: Judah's Blessing Walked in Order

Lion, then Shiloh, then the wine — Genesis 49:9–12 as a two-week sky.

Judah is a lion's whelp … he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? The sceptre shall not depart from Judah … until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Binding his foal unto the vine … he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes.
Genesis 49:9–11SPINE

Judah's blessing runs lion, then the Shiloh clause, then the vintage — verse 9 before verse 11, every time it is read. Now set the fifth month of 2026 beside it, on this corpus's full-moon reckoning. Av 1, July 29: the King received into the Sun's heart at the Manger, under the full moon — the ingathering cazimi of the companion exhibit. Av 15, August 12: the sun darkened and restored in the Lion — the total eclipse of that day, the first over continental Europe in a generation — on the grave-rising festival; and in the neighboring house, the Virgin, the vintage stands assembled (Movement IV). Lion, then wine, with the gathering between. A calendar note for the ledger: months opened at the full moon put the conjunction — and only a conjunction can eclipse — at mid-month by construction. This reckoning's Av 15 had to be a dark sun if it was to be anything; that the dark sun of 2026 is a total eclipse through the Lion is the part the construction could not supply. SCAFFOLD

One geographic found-detail, logged without weight: the totality path of August 12, 2026 runs Greenland to Iceland to northern Spain at sunset — crossing Iberian vineyard country, Rioja by name — the sun going dark and returning over some of the oldest vineyards in Europe, on the evening of the vineyard-dance festival, while the calendar keeps the feast in the east. From Jerusalem the eclipse is marginal at best near sunset; the sign performs over the vineyards of the west. Both clauses stand.

MOVEMENT IV

A Party at the Virgin's House

The wine-namesakes, the wanderer, and the morning star — Horizons-certified.

Query the ephemeris for the day — not memory, the instrument — and the guest list returns assembled:

GEOCENTRIC POSITIONS · 2026-08-12 12:00 UT · JPL HORIZONS
Sun / Moon (eclipse)09h 27m+14° 59′139.8°Leo — the Lion, nearing Regulus
Jupiter (Tzedeq)~131°Cancer/Leo cusp, beside the Sun

3671 Dionysus12h 02m+08° 34′177.5°Virgo — her northern quarter
Venus12h 18m−03° 07′185.7°Virgo — on the ecliptic, mid-cluster
2063 Bacchus12h 35m−05° 50′190.7°Virgo — toward the ear of grain
Columns: right ascension, declination, ecliptic longitude, station. Dionysus and Odysseus stand in longitude conjunction to 0.3°. Ephemeris auditable at ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons.

Both wine-gods and the wanderer stand in Virgo on the day of the vineyard dances, with Dionysus and Odysseus in longitude conjunction to three-tenths of a degree at her western gate, Bacchus thirteen degrees deeper toward the ear of grain — and Venus, the morning star, on the ecliptic in the middle of the cluster, bracketed by the guest list. One mechanical note that is almost too apt: 1143 Odysseus is a Jupiter Trojan of the Greek camp — an object whose entire existence is spent running perpetually ahead of the king planet in escort formation. The herald always precedes the King along the zodiac; on this day the herald stands at the Virgin's door while the King keeps the Lion's station beside the darkened sun, arriving in due course because Genesis 49 runs verse 9 before verse 11.

The fences, stated in the exhibit's own voice because this movement needs them most: the positions are SPINE — ephemeris-auditable to the arcsecond. The names are modern astronomers' blind assignments, witnesses named without reading the deposition, same as Sedna. And the selection is confessed: these three objects were asked after by name, and thousands of minor planets stand in every constellation on every date. The claim is therefore onomastic, not statistical — that the three names asked after co-locate in the Virgin on the vintage feast, two in conjunction, with the morning star among them; and that one of the three names is the covenant name this corpus is written under, standing at her gate. Found, dated, filed — never load-bearing. SCAFFOLD

MOVEMENT V

RSVP to Venus

The canon's final invitation is sent from the morning star's account.

I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.
Revelation 22:16–17SPINE

Consecutive verses: the speaker identifies himself as the morning star, and the very next breath is the invitation — the canon's last summons issues from the morning star's account, co-signed by the bride, addressed to whosoever, the drinks free. Isaiah 55:1 set the catering terms eight centuries early: come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. No cost, no fermentation, no fine print. The wedding-feast parable supplies the only failure mode on record: the invitations went out, and some made light of it (Matt 22:5). The one way to miss the party at the Virgin's house is to decline the reply.

So the sequence this corpus has walked closes where a vintage should: the sower mown, the field grazed, the goads retired at the forge where spears become psalm-tools, the pruning-songs begun — and then the pressing, to the vintage-shout, of a wine that needs no fermentation, poured for guests who need no goading, in skins that need no replacing twice. The goading stops because there is no point; the invitation stands because there is no price. Whosoever will. RSVP to the morning star. Love conquers all — not as event, but as process; and the process ends at a table.

THE HONEST-TENSION LEDGER

Consistent-with is never proven-by. The fences below are part of the exhibit, not apologies for it.

The texts: Gen 49:9–12; Matt 9:17; Matt 22:1–14; Matt 26:29; John 2:1–11; Acts 2:13 (gleukos); 1 Cor 15:53; Isa 55:1; Rev 19:9; Rev 22:16–17. The astronomy: the total solar eclipse of Aug 12, 2026 (Greenland–Iceland–Spain, sun in Leo); the geocentric positions of Venus, 2063 Bacchus, 3671 Dionysus, and 1143 Odysseus per JPL Horizons as tabulated; the Trojan (Greek camp) dynamics of 1143 Odysseus.
SPINE
The synthesis: Tu B'Av's grave-rising tradition as a resurrection encoding (the tradition is Talmudic/midrashic, not canonical, and is presented as such); gleukos/kainos as an incorruptibility formula; the Av 1 → Av 15 sequence as Gen 49:9–12 walked in order; the Virgin-house gathering read through Cana and Rev 22:16–17; the eclipse-at-mid-month as a structural consequence of the full-moon reckoning, honestly separated from the totality that the construction could not supply.
The Rioja sunset totality is a found geographic detail, logged without weight. The full-moon calendar is this corpus's litigated reckoning, cross-referenced not asserted.
SCAFFOLD
The declarations: Av 15 (Aug 12, 2026) as an appointed station of the vintage economy — the goading retired, the pruning begun, the new wine in view; the onomastic reading of the Virgin-house guest list, including the covenant name at her gate.
Dated and fenced. The selection effect is confessed in full in Movement IV: the objects were asked after by name; the claim is onomastic, never statistical, never load-bearing. Mark 13:32 stands over every appointed hour; the wedding parable's own warning — some made light of it — is retained as the exhibit's only threat, and it is the invitation's, not ours.
