The Directed Energy
Weapons of God

The Word that writes, and the fire that unwrites
"Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?" (Jer 23:29)

Man has built weapons that send energy through the air. He has patented sound that is heard inside the head, funded beams that heat skin at a distance, and designed a bomb meant to kill the man and spare the building. Every one of these is an imitation, and every one falls short in the same places.

Scripture records judgments and preservations that this exhibit reads together: men struck, bodies carried out in their coats, censers recovered, and bystanders spared. The technologies surveyed here do not establish a physical explanation for those events. This exhibit catalogs that witness, compiles the proposed readings, and follows the thread to where the fire and the meet.

Man Imitates

What the patents, contracts and released papers show, and where they stop

The sound inside the head. In 1961–62 Allan Frey showed that pulsed microwaves are heard as clicks and buzzes inside the skull, now called the . The US Air Force patented a method to encode intelligible speech into such pulses (granted 2002), with an apparatus patent the next year. SCAFFOLD

The weapons built on it. A Navy contract in 2003–04 funded , specified to be portable, low-power, and able to switch from a crowd to one person. The reporting describes development plans and a successful early test; there is no public evidence it was ever fielded. A 1998 Army report released under the Freedom of Information Act surveyed microwave hearing at hundreds of meters and microwave heating of the body to 41°C. The Pentagon's non-lethal office fields high-power microwave, the and dazzling lasers. SCAFFOLD

The neutron bomb: kill the man, spare the building?SCAFFOLD

In 1959 a news magazine coined "neutron bomb" for a "death ray" that would kill men and leave machines and buildings undamaged. The weapon was real: an built as the W70-3 Lance warhead and the W79 artillery shell, retired in 1992. The promise was not. About 30% of its energy was still blast and 20% heat, so it flattened what stood near it. Its designer, Sam Cohen, argued in 1983 that deploying it as NATO proposed would not solve the strategic problem it was bought for.

Nor does neutron exposure dissolve bodies. Severe exposure can cause fatal radiation injury over hours to weeks; effects depend on dose, shielding and exposure conditions, not merely being within a radius. Blast and heat also remain. This is not a demonstrated explanation for the selective judgments gathered here.

What the beam comparison establishes. Power alone does not determine focus: wavelength, aperture, geometry and absorption matter. Ericsson lists a 320 W radio. Separately, an illustrative 0.5 m aperture at 3.5 GHz gives a wavelength × distance ÷ aperture scale of about 140 m at 800 m. That estimate is not a measured beamwidth for the product, a universal limit on focusing, or proof that every technology must expose adjacent people. These examples describe physical constraints, not the mechanism of divine judgment. SCAFFOLD

The beam and the Word: an illustrative contrastA broad cone from an emitter on the left covers five figures in beam mode. In Word mode only the central figure has a flame. The geometry illustrates the author's theological contrast, not the limits of every beam technology.emitterillustrative broad beam · external exposure
This broad external beam is an illustration, not a model of every emitter. The , aperture, wavelength, focusing and tissue absorption constrain particular systems. The is not a universal boundary for focusing. These technologies do not establish a physical explanation for the scriptural events described here.
Both diagram states (text)

Beam mode: an emitter on the left sends a widening cone across five figures; the chosen broad-beam geometry exposes the whole group. This is illustrative, not a claim that every beam must strike every nearby person.

Word mode: only the central figure is marked with a flame; the other four remain unmarked. This represents the author's reading of selective judgment and preservation, not a measured physical mechanism. Leviticus 10:5 records bodies carried out in their coats; Daniel 3:27 records the preservation of the three men and their coats; the proposed internal origin draws on Ezekiel 28:18's lament over Tyre.

No weapon formedCONVICTION

Whatever man has designed, or may yet design, to impair a body from a distance, slowly or at once, it works inside space and time. The One who keeps his servants stands outside both. He can heal faster than any device can harm, and the misuse of energy he made does not go unanswered. The saint's part is not to fear the device, nor to repay in kind, but to stand.

This exhibit does not identify any unexplained symptom as a weapon attack, and it does not promise physical immunity. Prayer and practical care go together: James pairs the prayer of faith with anointing (Jas 5:14). Seeing a physician is good stewardship, not unbelief.

Isa 54:17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Luke 10:19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jas 5:15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Rom 12:19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

The Fire from the LORD

The witness inventory, by mode

The texts record two different works that are often run together: consumption, where the body is devoured, and striking down, where the body falls and is carried out. Beside them stand the fire that preserves and the fire restrained. Each card nests the text itself (SPINE) and shows, separately, which marks this exhibit reads in it (CONVICTION). "Consumed" in these texts does not by itself mean reduced to ash.

Nadab and AbihuLeviticus 10:1–5
CONSUMEDSPINE

Fire "from the LORD" devoured the two priests and they died, yet they were carried out "in their coats" (the priests' coats were of fine linen, Exod 39:27). Here "devoured" did not mean reduced to ash: the bodies remained. The text does not say how the fire worked; that it struck from within is this exhibit's reading.

2And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

3Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

4And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

Eight Theories

What could explain precision dissolution, and at scale?

Seven marks recur across the inventory: the fire is selective, comes from within, leaves the surroundings spared, is instant, is openly attributed to the LORD, sometimes acts at scale, and is sometimes remedial. Each theory below is weighed against all seven.

These ratings are the author's qualitative assessment of proposed readings, not measurements, probabilities or independent corroboration. The marks themselves are a synthesis of different passages, not seven properties stated together in one text.

Theory 8: The Word that writes and unwritesCONVICTION

The exhibit proposes that creation is speech that writes order into being, and consuming fire is the same Word withdrawing that speech from one addressed body. It imagines heat as the signature of this un-writing; that mechanism is theological conviction, not a consequence established by Landauer's principle. Gathers 4, 5 and 6. Developed in Movement IV.

All eight theories (text)

Theory 1: Nature as instrument, timing as precision. God uses real events (eruption, lightning, airburst) and selects by moving the righteous out first: "Escape for thy life" (Gen 19:17), "Come out of her, my people" (Rev 18:4), the flight to Pella. Explains scale and timing. Cannot explain linen spared. Marks: Selective partly; From within no; Surroundings spared no; Instant yes; Openly attributed partly; At scale yes; Remedial no.

Theory 2: Selection by mark. The destroyer sweeps the whole field; a mark exempts. Precision by exemption, not by aim: the Passover blood, the servants sealed before the harm (Rev 7:3; 9:4). Under the Covenant of Grace the mark is the seal of the Spirit (Eph 1:13). The targeting is information, not energy. Marks: Selective yes; From within partly; Surroundings spared yes; Instant yes; Openly attributed yes; At scale yes; Remedial partly.

Theory 3: An intelligent agent. A messenger strikes and discerns whom to strike (2 Kgs 19:35; Acts 12:23). Explains selection. But the angelic stroke leaves bodies: it kills; it does not consume. Marks: Selective yes; From within partly; Surroundings spared yes; Instant yes; Openly attributed yes; At scale yes; Remedial yes.

Theory 4: The word as fire. "I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them" (Jer 5:14); "fire proceedeth out of their mouth" (Rev 11:5). In the apostolic record the word struck and blinded (Acts 5; 13) but did not reduce to ash. Marks: Selective yes; From within yes; Surroundings spared yes; Instant yes; Openly attributed yes; At scale partly; Remedial yes.

Theory 5: Selective absorption. One fire, different effects by what receives it: "Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire?" The upright (Isa 33:14–15). The furnace that slew the executioners left the three untouched. Physical likeness: a microwave heats the water and leaves the plate cool; MRI acts only on tuned nuclei. Marks: Selective yes; From within yes; Surroundings spared yes; Instant partly; Openly attributed partly; At scale yes; Remedial no.

Theory 6: Loosing what is held together. All things are upheld (Col 1:17; Heb 1:3); "all these things shall be dissolved" (2 Pet 3:11, luō, "loosed"). The energy is already inside the target; dissolution is the withdrawal of upholding. A 70 kg body holds about 6 × 10¹⁸ J of mass-energy; boiling off its water takes about 10⁸ J, 1 part in 60 billion. Marks: Selective yes; From within yes; Surroundings spared yes; Instant yes; Openly attributed partly; At scale yes; Remedial partly.

Theory 7: The skeptical reading. The accounts are stylized theological narrative, not observation. Stated once, at full strength, so the reader can weigh it.

Theory 8: The Word that writes and unwrites. Marks: Selective yes; From within yes; Surroundings spared yes; Instant yes; Openly attributed yes; At scale yes; Remedial yes.

Peter writes that the heavens were made "by the word of God," and that the heavens and earth now "by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire." The Word that wrote creation is the Word that holds it ready for fire. When the elements are "dissolved," the verb is : loosed, untied.

Information is not energy. A terabyte arrives over WiFi with a perfect checksum and the paint on the desk does not peel. The content rides in the pattern of the signal, and only a tuned receiver decodes it. A dream with photographic detail, or an epiphany that arrives whole, follows the same pattern: high content, almost no energy, received only by the one addressed. CONVICTION

The heat of un-writing: a hypothetical calculationWINK

is established physics for logically irreversible erasure in physical memory under its thermodynamic assumptions. At body temperature its standard bound is about 3 × 10⁻²¹ J per initially unknown, unbiased bit. For this illustration only, suppose a chosen number of independently stored bits per atom were erased across an assumed 7 × 10²⁷ atoms. The slider compares the resulting Landauer-bound estimate with a water-heating budget. It does not establish that bodies contain such a memory, that this erasure occurs, or where any heat would be deposited.

At the default setting, the estimate is of the same order as the idealized water-heating budget and the chemical energy in about a gallon of gasoline. Equal total energy does not mean equal effects: delivery, time, losses and location matter. This calculation does not explain the scriptural events or prove any technological impossibility.
NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH UNMAKING THE ATOMS
To annihilate the atoms themselves, turning a 70 kg body's whole mass into energy (), would release about 6.3 × 1018 J: roughly 52 billion gallons of gasoline, or 1.5 gigatons of TNT. The heat that boils off a body's water is about 1 part in 60 billion of the energy its own mass already holds.
What is established: erasing information in a physical memory releases heat. What is not: a count of "specification bits" per atom, any mechanism for erasing a body's order, or that the heat would land inside that body. Those are assumptions made for this illustration, and creation is not shown by thermodynamics to work by computation. The slider shows only that, under those assumptions, the arithmetic lands at a familiar scale. Theory 8 rests on Scripture, not on this calculation.
How the body becomes ashSCAFFOLD

A rough heat budget in two steps and one limit, not a full account of cremation. The energy to start is modest, for a reason most would not consider: the body carries its own fuel. Tap a stage.

Dry, burn, limitsThree stages run from left to right along a dashed line: water-heating budget, combustion and the limits of this physical analogy. Drying and burning may overlap. Each stage is available in the text transcript.DRYBURNLIMITS
Step 1: Flesh becomes tinder
The energy cost
about 106 MJ inabout 1 gallon of gasoline

About 60% of a body is water, roughly 42 kg in a 70 kg adult. Heating it to boiling and driving it off as steam takes about 106 MJ. This is a heat budget for the water alone, not the total energy of a cremation, and in a real fire drying and burning overlap rather than running in strict order. A wet body burns poorly; a drying one becomes fuel.

A natural parallel exists: the . A body, once lit, can smolder for hours on its own fat while furniture inches away is barely scorched. It shows a body burning without its surroundings, but it is slow and needs an outside spark.
This budget does not explain the witness texts; it shows what ordinary fire requires. Those texts describe something sudden: Nadab and Abihu "died before the LORD" on the spot. Ordinary fire is slow because it waits on air and time. Whatever the fire from the LORD was, Scripture does not present it as waiting on either. CONVICTION

Step 1: Flesh becomes tinder (about 106 MJ in; about 1 gallon of gasoline): About 60% of a body is water, roughly 42 kg in a 70 kg adult. Heating it to boiling and driving it off as steam takes about 106 MJ. This is a heat budget for the water alone, not the total energy of a cremation, and in a real fire drying and burning overlap rather than running in strict order. A wet body burns poorly; a drying one becomes fuel.

Step 2: Tinder becomes fire (about 400–550 MJ out; about 4× the energy it took to dry): A body carries 10–15 kg of fat at about 37 MJ per kg, with protein besides. That is several times the heat needed to dry it, so once well alight a body can feed much of its own fire. Crematoria still supply heat throughout; a leaner body needs more, a heavier one less.

The limits: air, time, and bone (125–170 m³ of air; about the air of a fair-sized room): Burning that fat consumes about 3 kg of oxygen per kg, 35–45 kg in all, and ordinary fire must draw it in. Bone resists longest: turning it to ash () takes sustained heat. A modern cremator runs at about 870–980°C for 1.5–3 hours and still leaves fragments that must be ground.

Theory 8: the Word that writes and unwritesCONVICTION

This exhibit proposes that creation is speech that writes order into being, and consuming fire is the same Word withdrawing that speech from one addressed body. In this theological reading, heat is imagined as the signature of un-writing—not a mechanism derived from thermodynamics. The following correspondences express that conviction, rather than seven independently verified physical properties:

  • From within: the erasure happens inside the matter itself (Ezek 28:18).
  • Selective: speech is addressed, as a signal is addressed to one receiver (Heb 4:12).
  • Surroundings spared: the coats, the censers and the bystanders were not addressed (Lev 10:5; Num 16:37).
  • Instant: "he spake, and it was done" (Ps 33:9).
  • Openly attributed: the fire is "from the LORD," and the witnesses know it.
  • At scale: addressing 250 or 185,000 is only a longer list.
  • Remedial: speech can be partial: blind "for a season" (Acts 13:11).

Physical coupling offers an analogy for selectivity, not selection by name or moral standing. The proposed origin from within belongs to this exhibit's reading of the Word, not to a result established by microwave physics.

MOVEMENT V

The Debris Field in Campania

What heat at scale leaves behind

The eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79 is a well-documented case of human bodies meeting extreme heat at scale. At Herculaneum, researchers have interpreted evidence from the waterfront chambers as rapid heating and vaporization of body fluids. In one room a young man's brain was turned to glass (). The 2025 study of that glass found it required heating above 510°C followed by rapid cooling: a very hot, short-lived ash cloud that passed before the slower (about 465°C or less) buried the town. Many victims were found in waterfront shelters, while others escaped the town. SCAFFOLD

Two lessons for the theories. Herculaneum records lethal heat and surviving remains; exposure varied, and the archaeology does not establish every survivor's warning or motive. Escape from the exposed place offers this exhibit a parallel to Theory 1 and the Pella tradition, not evidence that a volcano distinguished the righteous from the unrighteous. CONVICTION

"But the people of the church in Jerusalem had been commanded by a revelation, vouchsafed to approved men there before the war, to leave the city and to dwell in a certain town of Perea called Pella."

Felix trembledWINK

Paul "reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come," and "Felix trembled" (Acts 24:25). Josephus records that Agrippa, the son of Felix and Drusilla, perished with his wife in the eruption of Vesuvius.

"But after what manner that youth, with his wife, perished at the conflagration of the mountain Vesuvius, in the days of Titus Caesar, shall be related hereafter."

MOVEMENT VI

The Mystery Finished

Man riding on God's rails

Every network man has built runs on the first thing God spoke. WiFi, radio, the microwave and the light of day differ only in frequency. When man streams a film through the air he is using a lower octave of "Let there be light." The imitation is itself an unveiling: as the age closes, man's own tools disclose how the creation is held together and addressed. CONVICTION

7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

King James Version

The engineers did not invent the channel. They found it, measured it, and learned to write on it. That a man can now receive a library through the air without heat, and that the same band in a closed box boils water, is a parable in hardware: one carrier, two outcomes, depending on power, focus and who is addressed.

MOVEMENT VII

The Same Channel

Free will is in what we send and what we receive

The channel is neutral; its use is not. The same mouth, the same network, the same hours of attention can carry what defiles or what edifies. That choice is the free-will hinge of this whole exhibit: God's fire is under God's command, and ours is the stewardship of what we transmit and what we let in.

Jas 3:10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Eph 4:29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Phil 4:8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

King James Version
The fire that sat on each of themSPINE

At Pentecost the fire came again, and this time it consumed no one. It came as "cloven tongues like as of fire" and sat on each one, and they spoke "as the Spirit gave them utterance." Fire and word joined, in the mode that builds.

2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

King James Version
MOVEMENT VIII

Lord, Send Me

Fresh unction, and utterance fitted to your calling

The fire that consumes belongs to God alone. Under the , the disciple who asks to call it down is told, "Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of" (Luke 9:55). What is given to us is the other mode of the same fire: tongues that rest on each one, and utterance for the work each has been given. These are first steps, undated, to take as they fit your circumstances.

1
Ask for utterance
Pray as Paul asked others to pray for him: "that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel" (Eph 6:19). Ask for words fitted to your own calling and the people in your path, not borrowed ones.
2
Audit what you receive
For 7 days, write down every feed, channel, podcast and show that reaches you. Beside each, mark whether it passed the Philippians 4:8 test. Unsubscribe from one that did not, today.
3
Audit what you transmit
Read back your last 20 posts, messages or emails. Mark which ones ministered grace to the hearer (Eph 4:29). Delete or amend one that did not, and send one message this week whose only purpose is to build someone up.
4
Never call down fire
When someone wrongs you, speak blessing, not curse (Jas 3:10; Luke 9:55–56). Judgment is God's fire, under his command. Your part is the word that saves.
5
Tune the receiver
Keep a notebook by the bed and a quiet half hour in the morning. Record dreams, impressions and verses that arrive whole, then test them against Scripture (1 Thess 5:21). A tuned receiver is one that has made room.
6
Use the rails
The channel God laid in the creation now reaches nearly every person on earth. Choose one person who is far from home and send them one true, kind thing this week.
Lord, You spoke and it was done. Speak in us now. Let the fire that sat on each of them rest on us, give us utterance fitted to the work You have given each of us, and let every word we send minister grace to the one who hears it. Amen.
