OUT, AND IN — THE SCOPE OF THE INVITATION FOR AN ACCEPTABLE TIME
What the finger is on Jesus' own usage; what it has always been permitted to do; what the demons of GadaraThe country of the Gadarenes (Matthew 8) / Gergesenes / Gerasenes, on the east shore of Galilee, where the demons begged not to be tormented 'before the time' and were sent into the swine. begged it not to do 'before the time'; where Jesus stopped reading at Nazareth; and the four offices — bind, petition, judge, lead — that the consecrated servant holds at the 'in,' with the one office that stays God's.
OUT HAS BEEN THE COMMISSION FOR 2,000 YEARS. IN IS THE INVITATION.

The Thesis
The promises of Scripture describe an extreme concentration of the power to change outcomes on God's side of the ledger, held back on purpose so that none should perish — and they describe a servant who, in his own nothingness, is given access to it: 10 minutes of selfless prayer against 1,000 lifetimes of effort. This exhibit asks what that access is permitted to do, and when. The answer is in a preposition. On Jesus' own usage the finger of God is the Spirit, and its named act is casting OUT (ekballōGreek ἐκβάλλω, 'cast OUT' — the Gospels' word for exorcism. The preposition ek means out of. Every casting-out in the Gospels uses it.) — the standing commission of the church since Mark 16:17. The serpent's end in Revelation 20:10 is casting INTO (eisGreek εἰς, 'INTO' — the preposition of Revelation 20:10, where the devil is 'cast INTO the lake.' Out (ek) and into (eis) are the two arrows of this exhibit.) the lake — same verb, opposite direction — and the demons at GadaraThe country of the Gadarenes (Matthew 8) / Gergesenes / Gerasenes, on the east shore of Galilee, where the demons begged not to be tormented 'before the time' and were sent into the swine., who share Revelation 20's verb for torment, begged not to receive it 'before the time.' Jesus answered by casting out and not in, and at Nazareth he read Isaiah 61 to the comma — 'the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse.' — and closed the book before 'the day of vengeanceIsaiah's paired term for the season of judgment (61:2; 63:4; 34:8), always set beside a 'year' of redemption or favor. Jesus did not read it aloud at Nazareth..' The year permits out; the day is when the same finger casts in. At the 'in,' the canon keeps 3 roles apart: the authority to throw is God's (Luke 12:5), the labor of the throw is the angels' (Matt 13:41–42; Rev 20:1–3), and the verdict is shared with the saints on thrones (Rev 20:4). What the servant holds is 4 offices: to BIND (given in plain words), to PETITION (open, with exactly 1 fence — the sin unto death1 John 5:16's category — the one sin for which the apostle withholds the instruction to pray: 'I do not say that he shall pray for it.' The single stated fence on petition.), to JUDGE (seated, not swung), and to LEAD — as the unnamed fit man of Leviticus 16 led the live goat, loaded with all sin, alive to the land not inhabited. Not to throw. The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh. holds, fenced, that the comma has been crossed: binding open since April 2024, the serpent's dispatch since April 2025. A reader may take the grammar without the dates. Either way the scope of the invitation is the same: four fingers; the thumb is God's.
The Chain of Logic — a reader's map
I.The asymmetry: the promises of concentrated potency, the restraint that holds it back, and the claim under test — 10 minutes against 1,000 lifetimes.
II.The finger named: 4 uses; Luke 11:20 = Matt 12:28, finger = Spirit, act = casting out; the Imago Dei's slack finger (Meshberger at wink).
III.The demons' clock: basanizō in Matt 8:29 and Rev 20:10; kairos as the devil's timetable; Jesus' answer — out, not in.
IV.The Nazareth comma: acceptable year read, day of vengeance withheld; Cana's not-yet; the cadence of John 9:4.
IV·b.The rending: Isaiah 63–66 as a 9-rung ladder — the arm alone (63:5), the Spirit named (63:10–11), the petition to rend (64:1), the heavens torn at the Jordan (Mark 1:10), the serpent's meat (65:25), the fire (66:24).
V.Out and in: the casting ledger — every ballō sorted by preposition; who holds the arm; why 20:10's passive is a footnote.
VI.The hand: four offices given — bind, petition, judge, lead — and the one reserved. Tap a finger.
VII.The two goats: one dies for many; one is sent away alive by the hand of a fit man — the type's second half, and the serpent as its candidate (1 Enoch at witness).
VII·b.The bare arm: Isa 52:10 with 53:1 and 59:16 — the arm bares where no intercessor is found; Isaiah 2:4; Luke 9:54 as the boundary.
VIII.Greater works: because I go — more fingers, not a stronger finger; every eye shall see, at grade.
VIII·b.By night and by day: the finger in the acceptable year and on the day, two columns, Luke 9:54 at the seam.
IX.The living and the dead: the Great White Throne, Rev 21:8, the second death, and how far 'any' reaches.
X.The reading, fenced: April 2024, April 2025, the 500/500 cadence, and the invitation.
XI.Redeeming the time: the order of the watch for the consecrated servant, in 7 lines.
Terms underlined in gold carry definitions — hover or tap them. No prior knowledge is assumed; every card is written to survive being the first card read.
The exhibit in one panel. In the acceptable year the finger casts out — into the swine, into the sea, never into the lake; the demons of Gadara begged on exactly that difference. The scroll stands open at the comma where Jesus stopped reading. On the day of vengeance the servant's hand does not throw: it leads the sin-bearer alive to the land not inhabited, as the fit man led the goat — and the angel's hand casts in.
Movement I — The Asymmetry
Concentrated potency, held back on purpose
The promises describe a concentration of potency, and a restraint.
Read the promises together and the pattern is not only that God is sovereign but that the power to change outcomes is concentrated to an extreme degree on one side of the ledger: 'not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit'; 'greater is he that is in you'; 'my strength is made perfect in weakness'; 'all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags'; 'without me ye can do nothing.' The last of these is the hinge, because Philippians 4:13 stands on the same nothing: it is in the servant's nothingness that all things become possible. And the concentration is held back on purpose — the One who could create more in an instant than all of mankind has made in its whole history is 'not willing that any should perish' (2 Pet 3:9). The restraint is the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse.. It is not weakness; it is the door being held open.
The claim this exhibit is built to test: 10 minutes against 1,000 lifetimes.
The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s proposition, stated plainly so it can be weighed: the consecrated servant of the most High can accomplish more in 10 minutes of selfless prayer than can be accomplished in 1,000 lifetimes of diligent effort — the outworking being for His glory, in His way, on His timing; but the petition does not return void. The canon's proof case is ElijahThe prophet whose prayer closed the heavens for 3 years and 6 months and opened them again — James 5:17–18's proof that a righteous man's prayer changes outcomes.: 'a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of 3 years and 6 months' (James 5:17). One man's prayer set a nation's weather for 42 months. Psalm 127:1 states the inverse: 'except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.' The rest of this exhibit is about what the 10 minutes are permitted to ask for, and in what season.
The finger of God is already a technical term, and on Jesus' own usage it means the Spirit — casting out.
Scripture uses the phrase 4 times: the magicians' confession at the gnats (Exod 8:19), the tables of the law (Exod 31:18; Deut 9:10), the heavens as the work of His fingers (Ps 8:3), and Luke 11:20 — 'if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.' Matthew records the same saying as 'by the Spirit of God' (12:28). Two evangelists, one sentence, the two terms exchanged: finger of God = Spirit of God. And the finger's paradigm act, in the one place Jesus uses the phrase, is ekballōGreek ἐκβάλλω, 'cast OUT' — the Gospels' word for exorcism. The preposition ek means out of. Every casting-out in the Gospels uses it. — casting out. That is not incidental to what follows; it is the hinge. Whatever else the finger writes or makes, the act Jesus chose to name by it is the eviction of a demon.
In Michelangelo's Creation of Adam the gap is on the man's side. God's finger is extended and taut; Adam's is slack, half-raised, the wrist unbent — the whole distance between them is the distance Adam has not closed. MeshbergerFrank Lynn Meshberger, the physician whose 1990 JAMA article proposed that the cloud around God in the Creation of Adam is drawn as a cross-section of the human brain.'s 1990 reading of the cloud around God as a sagittal section of the brain (the fissure, the stem, the pituitary; God's arm along the line of the prefrontal cortex) is filed here at WINKThis house's lowest evidence tier — a coincidence noticed and recorded, explicitly not argued. Footnote-grade by declaration. — Michelangelo dissected, the match is plausible, nothing is proven — but the gesture needs no anatomy. The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s reading of the image: the servant is the finger of God at the human end of the gap — free will applied to discerning what needs to be done, and then the petition presented, not for man's glory but for the glory of the most High. The finger is the giver's instrument and the receiver's answer in one image.
"Before the time?" — basanizō, kairos, and the answer
The Gadarene demons and the serpent of Revelation 20 are reading one appointment book.
'Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?' (Matt 8:29). The verb is basanizōGreek βασανίζω, 'torment' — the verb the Gadarene demons use in Matthew 8:29 ('torment us before the time') and the verb of Revelation 20:10 ('shall be tormented day and night'). Same root in both.; the time is kairosGreek καιρός — an appointed season or opportune time, as opposed to chronos (clock time). The demons' word for their schedule (Matt 8:29), the devil's word for his remaining time (Rev 12:12), and Paul's word for the time to be redeemed (Eph 5:16).. Revelation 20:10 says the devil, cast into the lake, 'shall be tormented' — basanizō again — 'day and night for ever.' The demons are not afraid of a generic bad outcome. They know a scheduled torment, and they are asking whether the schedule has been moved up. Every exorcism in the Gospels is therefore a proleptic enactment of Revelation 20:10 — the finger reaching forward in time and applying the verdict ahead of the date. The devil's own clock is written in the demons' word: 'he hath but a short kairos' (Rev 12:12); and its last increment is 'a little season' after his loosing (Rev 20:3).
He did not deny the appointment. He kept it — by not keeping it early. The demons asked, if cast out, to be sent into the swine; he said 'Go'; the herd ran into the sea. Out of the men, into the herd, into the water: the only 'into' the demons received that day was the sea, and the lake was not opened. The acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse. permits the finger to cast out; the day of vengeanceIsaiah's paired term for the season of judgment (61:2; 63:4; 34:8), always set beside a 'year' of redemption or favor. Jesus did not read it aloud at Nazareth. is when the same finger casts in. The demons knew the difference and begged on it. The canon's grammar keeps it: every Gospel exorcism is ekballōGreek ἐκβάλλω, 'cast OUT' — the Gospels' word for exorcism. The preposition ek means out of. Every casting-out in the Gospels uses it., out; the serpent's end is eisGreek εἰς, 'INTO' — the preposition of Revelation 20:10, where the devil is 'cast INTO the lake.' Out (ek) and into (eis) are the two arrows of this exhibit., into.
The acceptable year read; the day of vengeance withheld
The Nazareth comma: Jesus read to the middle of a sentence and closed the book.
Luke 4:18–19: he stands, receives the scroll of Isaiah, finds the place, and reads — '...to preach the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse. of the Lord.' Then he closes the book, hands it back, and sits down. Isaiah 61:2 continues without a full stop: 'and the day of vengeanceIsaiah's paired term for the season of judgment (61:2; 63:4; 34:8), always set beside a 'year' of redemption or favor. Jesus did not read it aloud at Nazareth. of our God.' The stopping-point is the on/off this exhibit runs on, and it is Isaiah's own grammar, repeated in 63:4 ('the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come') and 34:8. Year = acceptable; day = vengeance. Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8 as 'now is the acceptable time' (2 Cor 6:2) — kairosGreek καιρός — an appointed season or opportune time, as opposed to chronos (clock time). The demons' word for their schedule (Matt 8:29), the devil's word for his remaining time (Rev 12:12), and Paul's word for the time to be redeemed (Eph 5:16). dektos, the demons' word for schedule with the Nazareth adjective attached. In the acceptable year the finger casts out. The day of vengeance is the season the comma was holding back.
At Cana — 'mine hour is not yet come' — the not-yet fences the consummation and does not prevent the act: he says not yet and turns the water anyway. At GadaraThe country of the Gadarenes (Matthew 8) / Gergesenes / Gerasenes, on the east shore of Galilee, where the demons begged not to be tormented 'before the time' and were sent into the swine. — 'before the time?' — the same: he casts out anyway. The pattern is a season with a limit, not a season with nothing in it. And Jesus states the working cadence himself: 'I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work' (John 9:4); 'are there not twelve hours in the day?' (11:9). With Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 — a day with the Lord as 1,000 years — the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh. reckons each 1,000-year dayThe reckoning that a day with the Lord is a thousand years (Ps 90:4; 2 Pet 3:8), applied to history as a week of days. Its division into 500 years of day and 500 of night is the Wellkeeper's reading. as 500 years of day and 500 of night (his reading, not a stated quantity; the halving is licensed by Genesis 1's 'evening and morning,' the arithmetic is fenced below). On that reckoning the night of the eighth dayIn the Wellkeeper's 1,000-year-day reckoning (Ps 90:4; 2 Pet 3:8), the day that began in 2025 after the 'night' of 1525–2025 — the day beyond the week, the day of new creation. ran 1525–2025, and the day has been open since April 2025 — and, 2 days of 1,000 years earlier, the same seam fell in 25 CE: baptism in April 24 and Cana that summer in the last months of the night; the Nazareth reading of 'the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse.' in spring 25, in the first light of the day (the chronology is litigated in The Case for 7 BCE / 27 CE). Note once: John's 'hour' at Cana is the Passion, not a calendar term; the cadence stands on 9:4, 11:9, and Isaiah.
Read from the hinge at 63:4 forward, Isaiah's last 4 chapters run as a single sequence — and the Spirit is named by name inside the day-of-vengeance chapter. 9 rungs, in the text's order; the heavens are rent at the 5th, and the finger comes down through the rent.
63:4DECLARED

63:5THE ARM
'None to help... therefore mine own arm brought salvation.' Arm, not finger; alone. The reserved thumb, in Isaiah's words. Rev 19:11–15 quotes this scene.
63:10–11THE SPIRIT NAMED
'His holy Spirit' — the only 2 times Isaiah uses the phrase, both here. The finger of Luke 11:20, under its other name, in the day-of-vengeance chapter.
63:15–64:7THE PETITION
'Look down from heaven... Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens... as when the melting fire burneth' (64:1). 'All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags' (64:6). 'None that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee' (64:7) — the slack finger.
Mark 1:10THE RENDING
The Father rends in answer (schizōGreek σχίζω, 'to tear or rend' — Mark's word for the heavens at the baptism (1:10) and the veil at the cross (15:38); the only 2 times he uses it. Matthew and Luke use anoigō, 'open,' the LXX's word in Isaiah 64:1., torn — Mark's verb for the veil too), and what descends through the rent is the Spirit. The petition of 64:1 is answered at the Jordan; the finger comes down.
65:1, 24THE LOOP SHORTENS
'I am sought of them that asked not for me.' 'Before they call, I will answer.' The day's petition does not wait 42 months.
65:17, 25THE SERPENT'S MEAT
New heavens and a new earth — and inside the passage, 'dust shall be the serpent's meat.' Genesis 3:14 consummated.
66:2, 8THE CREDENTIAL
'To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit.' Nothingness is the day's entry condition, not the night's consolation. 'A nation born at once.'
66:15–16, 24THE FIRE

The lake.
Movement V — Out, and In
The casting ledger
The instrument of the exhibit. One verb, ballō — 'to cast' — with 2 prepositions. Filter the ledger and watch the agents sort themselves: the church casts out; God, angels, and a word cast in.
Every casting verse this exhibit stands on, sorted by its preposition. Filter to see the pattern: OUT is delegated to the church in plain words; INTO is reserved to God, executed by angels, and stated in the passive for the serpent.

'Go.' Out of the men; into the herd; the herd into the sea. The 'into' the demons receive is the sea, not the lake.

Luke 12:5ἐξουσίαν... ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γέεννανGod alone
The only verse that names the AUTHORITY to cast into hell. 'Fear him.' The arm is reserved.
Matt 13:41–42βαλοῦσιν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν κάμινονThe angels (the reapers, 13:39)

Matt 25:41πορεύεσθε... εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιονThe Son of Man, by a word
'Depart from me... into everlasting fire, PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS.' Not a throw — a sentence. And the lake's original addressee, named once.
Rev 20:1–3ἔβαλεν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν ἄβυσσονAn angel
The dragon bound with a chain and cast into the abyss for 1,000 years — the chapter's named agent for the first casting-in.
The devil cast into the lake, 'and shall be tormented (basanizōGreek βασανίζω, 'torment' — the verb the Gadarene demons use in Matthew 8:29 ('torment us before the time') and the verb of Revelation 20:10 ('shall be tormented day and night'). Same root in both.) day and night.' The demons' Matthew 8:29 appointment, kept. Agent unnamed — the chapter has already shown who throws.
Death and hell cast in; then whoever is not written in the book of life. After this there is nothing left to die of: 'This is the second deathRevelation's term (2:11; 20:6, 14; 21:8) for the lake of fire — the death that remains after death itself has been thrown in; 'on such the second death hath no power.'.'
Same verb, opposite preposition: the exhibit's instrument.
Every Gospel exorcism is ekballōGreek ἐκβάλλω, 'cast OUT' — the Gospels' word for exorcism. The preposition ek means out of. Every casting-out in the Gospels uses it. — cast OUT (ek, out of). Revelation 20:10 is ἐβλήθη εἰς — cast INTO (eisGreek εἰς, 'INTO' — the preposition of Revelation 20:10, where the devil is 'cast INTO the lake.' Out (ek) and into (eis) are the two arrows of this exhibit.). Same verb ballō; opposite direction. Matthew 22:13 shows both in one clause — 'bind him hand and foot, and cast him OUT INTO outer darkness' — and it is the king's servants who bind and carry while the king sentences. The ledger above sorts every casting verse by its preposition. The pattern it shows: OUT is delegated to the church in plain words ('in my name shall they cast out devils'); INTO is reserved in its authority to God (Luke 12:5), executed in its labor by angels (Matt 13:41–42; Rev 20:1–3), pronounced by the Son of Man as a word (Matt 25:41), and stated in the passive for the serpent (Rev 20:10) because the chapter has already shown who throws.
Why the passive in 20:10 is a footnote and not a door.
The agent of the serpent's casting-in is unnamed. Stated once: that is the ordinary divine passiveA grammatical habit of Scripture: stating an act in the passive voice ('was cast') to name God as the unstated agent. Revelation 19–20 uses it for every 'cast into the lake.' of apocalyptic — 19:20 and 20:14–15 use it too — so grammar alone opens no door to the saints as throwers. What the chapter does do is seat them: 'judgment was given unto them' (20:4), between an angel's act (the chain, 20:1–3) and God's act (the fire from heaven, 20:9). The passive leaves the serpent's throw unattributed inside a chapter that has just shown delegated agency at every level. That is a fair observation, held at WINKThis house's lowest evidence tier — a coincidence noticed and recorded, explicitly not argued. Footnote-grade by declaration.. The exhibit's load-bearing claim is not that the saints throw; it is what the four offices below say they do instead.
What, then, does the servant hold at the 'in'? Not the arm. Tap each finger for the office and the texts that give it. The thumb is marked in red on purpose.
PETITIONOPEN — ONE FENCE
The righteous servant; withheld by instruction from the sin unto death
James 5:16–18; 1 John 5:16; 2 Pet 3:9; Luke 18:1–8
'The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much' — and the proof case is ElijahThe prophet whose prayer closed the heavens for 3 years and 6 months and opened them again — James 5:17–18's proof that a righteous man's prayer changes outcomes. closing and opening the heavens. The petition does not return void; it returns in His way, on His timing, for His glory. Its reach is as wide as the Father's unwillingness to lose any of His creation (2 Pet 3:9; Rom 8:21; Col 1:20). And it is fenced exactly once: 'There is a sin unto death1 John 5:16's category — the one sin for which the apostle withholds the instruction to pray: 'I do not say that he shall pray for it.' The single stated fence on petition.: I do not say that he shall pray for it' (1 John 5:16). The servant prays for every creature the Father would keep, and is instructed — not forbidden by weakness, but instructed — not to pray for the one the lake was prepared for. That fence is the 'nevertheless' of this exhibit.
Movement VII — The Two Goats
One dies for many; one is led away alive
Two goats: one dies for many; one is sent away alive, bearing all sin.
Leviticus 16 sets 2 goats before the LORD. One is slain and its blood carried within the veil — its antitype stated by CaiaphasThe high priest who said of Jesus, 'it is expedient that one man should die for the people' (John 11:50) — which John calls unwitting prophecy. without his understanding it: 'expedient that one man should die for the people' (John 11:50). The other is not slain. Aaron lays both hands on its head, confesses over it 'all the iniquities of the children of Israel,' and it is sent away alive 'by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness... unto a land not inhabited.' Hebrews calls the whole rite a figure and a shadow (9:9; 10:1). The live goat has no stated antitype in the New Testament — but the Second Temple reading is on record, and it is the shape of Revelation 20: 1 EnochA Jewish apocalyptic book of the centuries before Christ, not in the canon, but quoted in Jude 14–15. Its Azazel sequence (bound, abyss, then fire) matches Revelation 20. Held here at WITNESS tier. 10 has the watcher AzazelThe name in Leviticus 16:8, 10, 26 for the destination (or recipient) of the live goat. Second Temple texts (1 Enoch) read Azazel as a fallen watcher, bound in the desert until 'the day of the great judgment.' bound hand and foot, cast into an opening in the desert, covered in darkness 'for ever,' and 'on the day of the great judgment... cast into the fire' — with the instruction, 'to him ascribe all sin.' WITNESSThis house's evidence tier for non-canonical texts: admitted as a witness to how a period understood a thing, never as Scripture. Below SPINE, above WINK. tier: not canon, but Jude quotes the same book, so not unknown to the apostles either.
The fit man: the servant's office at the 'in' is the leading, not the throw.
The type at the Passion was that one should die to atone for many. The type has a second half, and the serpent is its obvious candidate: the sin-bearer who dies is Christ; the sin-bearer who is sent away alive to the abyss and then the fire is the accuser. Between them stands the one human figure in the rite whose name the text withholds — ish ittiHebrew אִישׁ עִתִּי (Lev 16:21), 'a fit man' — literally a timely or appointed man — who leads the live goat into the wilderness. Unnamed in the text., the timely man, the man of the appointed hour — who does not kill the goat and does not cast it anywhere. He leads it to the land not inhabited and comes back to wash. That is the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s finger of God at the day of vengeanceIsaiah's paired term for the season of judgment (61:2; 63:4; 34:8), always set beside a 'year' of redemption or favor. Jesus did not read it aloud at Nazareth.: not a stronger arm, but the appointed hand on the cord, walking the accused to the edge, and handing him to the angel with the chain.
The bare arm is not the finger failing; it is the finger missing.
'The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations' (Isa 52:10) — and the next breath identifies the arm: 'to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?' (53:1), answered by the Servant of chapter 53. Isaiah petitions the arm the way 64:1 petitions the heavens: 'Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD' (51:9). And he says twice, in the same words, when the sleeve rolls back: 'he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessorOne who stands between and pleads for another. Isaiah 59:16 and 64:7 name his absence as the condition under which God's own arm acts.: therefore his arm brought salvation' (59:16); 'I looked, and there was none to help... therefore mine own arm brought salvation' (63:5). Set beside 64:7 — 'none that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee' — the relation between arm and finger is exact. The finger is the intercessor. The arm bares where no finger takes hold. The arm does not replace a finger that failed; it acts in the place a finger left empty.
The day's civil result is Isaiah 2:4'They shall beat their swords into plowshares... neither shall they learn war any more' — the civil result of the day, quoted at the United Nations on a wall and nowhere yet in a treaty.: 'they shall beat their swords into plowshares... neither shall they learn war any more.' On the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s reading (fenced below) the bared arm of 52:10 is the swift answer to those who would bear arms in the season when 2:4 is coming upon the earth — the pun is English and filed at WINKThis house's lowest evidence tier — a coincidence noticed and recorded, explicitly not argued. Footnote-grade by declaration.; the sequence is Isaiah's and on the spine. The servant's part in it is unchanged: not the arm. Luke 9:54–56 is the boundary from the servant's side — the disciples ask for fire 'even as Elias did' and are told 'ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.' ElijahThe prophet whose prayer closed the heavens for 3 years and 6 months and opened them again — James 5:17–18's proof that a righteous man's prayer changes outcomes.'s fire (1 Kgs 18) is the proof text James reaches for on prayer's potency (5:17), and Jesus refuses it in the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse.. The season decides the arrow; the servant does not.
Greater works — because I go: not a stronger finger, more fingers.
'Greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father' (John 14:12). The verse names its own cause, and the cause is the ascension: the Comforter comes only if he goes (16:7); power arrives with the Spirit (Acts 1:8); the Spirit is poured on all flesh (Joel 2:28'I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh' — quoted by Peter at Pentecost (Acts 2:17) as the charter of the many-handed church.; Acts 2:17). The finger of God did not get stronger. It got more fingers — a many-membered body as the finger of God. Luke 10 is the demonstration in miniature: the 70The 70 (or 72) disciples Jesus sent out in Luke 10, who returned reporting 'even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.' are sent, the 70 return with 'even the devils are subject unto us through thy name,' and Jesus reports the heavenly ledger — 'I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.' Their delegated casting-out registered above as his fall. The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s claim that the conditions are more favorable now than in Jesus' day is, on the spine, this: there are more hands, and the Spirit is on all of them.
The second favorable condition, at its own grade: every eye shall see.
'Knowledge shall be increased' (Dan 12:4) is the end-season signature under which technology enters as a favorable condition — held at WITNESSThis house's evidence tier for non-canonical texts: admitted as a witness to how a period understood a thing, never as Scripture. Below SPINE, above WINK. on the spine, the Spirit being the stated cause. Revelation 1:7, 'every eye shall see him,' carries both readings without strain: the sky, which every eye on a clear night can see in the course of a 24-hour day; and the broadcast, by which a thing recorded once can be seen by all. A petition prayed once and a deliverance witnessed once can now be seen by every eye. That multiplies what one act reaches. It does not change whose act it is.
What the finger is permitted to do in the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse., and what it is permitted to do on the day — side by side, with the verse that marks the boundary from the servant's side between them.
THE FINGER BY NIGHTthe acceptable year
THE FINGER BY DAYthe day of vengeance
Casts OUT; never IN. The demons beg on the difference (Matt 8:29–32).
The second arrow opens: the fit manThe unnamed man of Leviticus 16:21 (ish itti) who leads the live goat into the wilderness — this exhibit's figure for the servant's office of LEADING at the 'in.' leads, the angel throws, the arm treads alone (Lev 16; Rev 20; Isa 63:5).
Turns water without touching the pots — Cana, summer 24 CE, in the last months of the night, under 'not yet' (John 2:1–11).
'Before they call, I will answer' (Isa 65:24). The loop between petition and outcome shortens.
Refuses fire: 'ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of' (Luke 9:54–56).
Fire is permitted: 'the LORD will come with fire' (Isa 66:15); 'fire came down from God out of heaven' (Rev 20:9).
The long loop: ElijahThe prophet whose prayer closed the heavens for 3 years and 6 months and opened them again — James 5:17–18's proof that a righteous man's prayer changes outcomes.'s 42 months (James 5:17); the widow's persistence (Luke 18:1–8).
The heavens rent in answer to petition (Isa 64:1 → Mark 1:10); the finger descends through the rent.
Sustained by intercession — milk; the katechon present, then (63 CE) withdrawn, and the ekklesia sent to find meat (Heb 5:12–14).
The credential is contrition, not strength (Isa 66:2); the arm bares where no intercessorOne who stands between and pleads for another. Isaiah 59:16 and 64:7 name his absence as the condition under which God's own arm acts. is found (Isa 59:16; 63:5; 64:7).
The serpent loosed for 'a little season' (Rev 20:3); every eye on the night sky.
'Dust shall be the serpent's meat' (Isa 65:25); every eye shall see (Rev 1:7) — the sky and the broadcast.
THE SEAM · LUKE 9:54–56The disciples ask to call fire down 'even as Elias did.' Rebuked. A day-of-vengeance act requested during the acceptable yearIsaiah 61:2's 'year of the LORD's favor' (Hebrew ratzon; Greek dektos) — the season of release and redemption, as distinct from the 'day of vengeance' that follows it in the same verse.. The verse marks the boundary from the servant's side: the same finger, the same hands, and the season decides which arrow is permitted. 'More potent' on the spine means 3 things and not a 4th — a shorter loop, a wider permission, more hands — never more power in the finger itself.
Movement IX — The Living and the Dead
The throne, the allotment, the second death, and the reach of "any"
The Great White Throne judges the dead; Revelation 21:8 adjudicates the living.
'I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God' (Rev 20:12) — the books opened, the dead judged. Then 21:8, in the present tense, names classes — the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, all liars — who 'shall have their part (merosGreek μέρος, 'part' or 'allotment' — Revelation 21:8's word: those classes 'shall have their PART in the lake.' A share, chosen., an allotment) in the lake': the living, by what they have chosen. Which sin is unto death is discerned by the all-knowing God alone (1 John 5:16), not by the servant. And after 20:14 — 'death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second deathRevelation's term (2:11; 20:6, 14; 21:8) for the lake of fire — the death that remains after death itself has been thrown in; 'on such the second death hath no power.'' — there is nothing left to die of except the lake: death itself has been thrown in. Matthew 25:41 names the lake's original addressee once, 'prepared for the devil and his angels'; the living nations are sentenced by a word into a fire that was prepared for someone else.
'Not willing that any should perish' (2 Pet 3:9). The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh. reads 'any' as extending past Adamic man to all of creation, and the canon supports the reach: 'the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption' (Rom 8:21); 'to reconcile all things unto himself... things in earth, or things in heaven' (Col 1:20). Noted once, where the reach stops: 'he took not on him the nature of angels' (Heb 2:16); 'God spared not the angels that sinned' (2 Pet 2:4). So the servant's petition covers every creature the Father would keep — and is withheld, by instruction, from the one the lake was prepared for. That instruction is the 'nevertheless' between 2 Peter 3:9 and Revelation 20:10, and it is the only fence Scripture puts on prayer.
⚑ Conviction — labeled as such, kept off the spine
The season: binding open since April 2024, the serpent's dispatch open since April 2025.
The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s conviction, fenced. On his full-moon reckoning, 120 JubileeThe 50th-year release of Leviticus 25 — debts cancelled, slaves freed, land returned. The Wellkeeper reckons 120 Jubilees (6,000 years) from Genesis 6:3's '120 years' to a terminus in 2025.s (6,000 years, Gen 6:3's '120 years' read at the Jubilee scale) ran out in 2025. He holds that not later than April 2024 it became possible to bind powers, principalities, thrones, and dominions — 'judgment must begin at the house of God' (1 Pet 4:17'The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God' — Peter's order of proceedings, read by the Wellkeeper as the April 2024 opening of the binding season.) — and that not later than April 2025 it has been possible to dispatch the serpent himself to the lake of fire. On the exhibit's own grammar these two claims rest on different grades: BINDING is delegated to the church in plain words (Matt 18:18), so the first claim is a claim about a season opening on an office already given; the DISPATCH rests on verdict, petition, and the fit manThe unnamed man of Leviticus 16:21 (ish itti) who leads the live goat into the wilderness — this exhibit's figure for the servant's office of LEADING at the 'in.''s leading, with the throw itself angelic — a claim about a seat and a cord, not an arm. The dates are his; the offices are the spine's. A reader may take the spine without the dates.
The cadence: 500 years of day and 500 of night in each 1,000-year day; the night of the eighth day, 1525–2025.
The 1,000-year dayThe reckoning that a day with the Lord is a thousand years (Ps 90:4; 2 Pet 3:8), applied to history as a week of days. Its division into 500 years of day and 500 of night is the Wellkeeper's reading. is stated (Ps 90:4; 2 Pet 3:8). Its halving into day and night is the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s reading — licensed structurally by Genesis 1's 'evening and morning' and by Jesus' own 'twelve hours in the day' (John 11:9), but not a stated quantity. On that reckoning the serpent's 'little season' after his loosing (Rev 20:3) is read against a night that ran 1525–2025, and the eighth dayIn the Wellkeeper's 1,000-year-day reckoning (Ps 90:4; 2 Pet 3:8), the day that began in 2025 after the 'night' of 1525–2025 — the day beyond the week, the day of new creation. has been open since April 2025 — the working hours of John 9:4 resumed. Conviction; kept off the spine.
Revelation 21:8 as the day's standard of coexistence; the bared arm as the answer to arms borne.
The WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s conviction, fenced. On the day, Revelation 21:8's list — the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars — is being enforced as the reasonable standard of peaceful coexistence among persons who have died to self or are capable of it, and Isaiah 52:10's bared arm is the swift answer to any who would bear arms against Isaiah 2:4'They shall beat their swords into plowshares... neither shall they learn war any more' — the civil result of the day, quoted at the United Nations on a wall and nowhere yet in a treaty.. Noted once: 21:8 in the text is a sentence pronounced from the throne, not a civil code, and reading it as a present standard is a ReadingThis house's term for the Wellkeeper's own conviction — always fenced, labeled, and kept off the spine so that a reader can take the spine without taking the reading.. The pun on arm/arms is English and stays at WINKThis house's lowest evidence tier — a coincidence noticed and recorded, explicitly not argued. Footnote-grade by declaration.. The exhibit's own line stands under it: the arm is God's, and the servant's offices are the four fingers.
Noticed, not argued: the Holy Door at Rebibbia, and the season's turn.
WINKThis house's lowest evidence tier — a coincidence noticed and recorded, explicitly not argued. Footnote-grade by declaration., dated. On December 26, 2024, in the last months of the night on the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh.'s reckoning, the bishop of Rome opened a Holy Door inside Rebibbia prison — the first ever opened in a prison — a door of release in a place of chains, in the closing year of the 120th JubileeThe 50th-year release of Leviticus 25 — debts cancelled, slaves freed, land returned. The Wellkeeper reckons 120 Jubilees (6,000 years) from Genesis 6:3's '120 years' to a terminus in 2025.. He died on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the seam the Wellkeeper marks for the serpent's dispatch. The Wellkeeper holds that the two overlapped closely and that the pope's own parting remarks left open the possibility of his deliverance though the body perished. The exhibit files the dates and no more: a man's deliverance is God's to discern (1 John 5:16 cuts both ways), and the succession of the see is a matter of canon law, not of this page.
The invitation: the hand that has cast out for 2,000 years is now asked to lead in.
If the Nazareth commaThis exhibit's name for the place Jesus stopped reading in Luke 4:19 — after 'the acceptable year of the Lord' and before Isaiah 61:2's next clause, 'and the day of vengeance of our God.' has been crossed, as the WellkeeperThe pen-name of this exhibit's author, who publishes the series under the covenant name Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh. holds, then the invitation of the present hour is not to a stronger finger but to a preposition. OUT has been the church's commission since Mark 16:17. IN is what 1 Corinthians 6:3 and Romans 16:20 promised — and the exhibit's grammar says what the servant's part in it is: to bind (given), to petition (open, one fence), to sit where judgment is given (seated), and to lead the sin-bearer alive to the land not inhabited as the fit manThe unnamed man of Leviticus 16:21 (ish itti) who leads the live goat into the wilderness — this exhibit's figure for the servant's office of LEADING at the 'in.' led the goat. The throw stays where Luke 12:5 leaves it. The scope of the invitation is the four fingers; the thumb is God's.
Movement XI — Redeeming the Time
The order of the watch
'Redeeming the time, because the days are evil' (Eph 5:16) — buying back the kairosGreek καιρός — an appointed season or opportune time, as opposed to chronos (clock time). The demons' word for their schedule (Matt 8:29), the devil's word for his remaining time (Rev 12:12), and Paul's word for the time to be redeemed (Eph 5:16).. For the consecrated servant who wants to know what to do with 10 minutes, the exhibit's grammar reduces to 7 lines.
1
Know the season.
Read to the comma, and know which side of it you stand on. The demons knew; the servant should not know less than the demons. Kairos is bought back (Eph 5:16) by a servant who knows what the finger is permitted to do in the hour he is standing in.
2
Discern before you petition.
The finger applies free will first in discerning what needs to be done — then presents the petition. NehemiahThe governor who rebuilt Jerusalem's wall under threat; his 4:9 order — 'we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch' — is this exhibit's model of prayer joined to work.'s order: 'we made our prayer unto our God, AND set a watch' (4:9). The finger that points is the finger that writes on tablets; prayer and work are one motion, not alternatives.
3
Bind what is given you to bind.
First bind the strong man (Matt 12:29). Binding on earth is ratified in heaven (18:18). Begin where Peter says judgment begins — at the house of God (1 Pet 4:17'The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God' — Peter's order of proceedings, read by the Wellkeeper as the April 2024 opening of the binding season.) — which means the servant's own house first.
4
Petition for every creature the Father would keep.
The reach of 2 Pet 3:9 is the reach of the petition — and ElijahThe prophet whose prayer closed the heavens for 3 years and 6 months and opened them again — James 5:17–18's proof that a righteous man's prayer changes outcomes.'s 42 months are the scale. Pray for the prodigal in the pig sty, for the powers that could yet bow, for the creation that groans. The petition does not return void; it returns in His way.
5
Honor the one fence.
'There is a sin unto death1 John 5:16's category — the one sin for which the apostle withholds the instruction to pray: 'I do not say that he shall pray for it.' The single stated fence on petition.: I do not say that he shall pray for it' (1 John 5:16). The servant does not decide who is in that category — God does. But where the Father has said not to ask, the fit manThe unnamed man of Leviticus 16:21 (ish itti) who leads the live goat into the wilderness — this exhibit's figure for the servant's office of LEADING at the 'in.' leads and does not plead.
6
Sit; do not swing.
'Judgment was given unto them.' The seat is shared; the arm is not (Luke 12:5). Psalm 82 is the warning label on the seat: judges who judge unjustly die like men. The servant who reaches for the thumb has left his office.
7
Not for man's glory.
'He must increase, but I must decrease' (John 3:30). The fit man's name is withheld in the text on purpose. 10 minutes of selfless prayer — selfless is the load-bearing word. The outworking is for His glory, in His way, on His timing; the servant's part is the cord in his hand and the road to the land not inhabited.
The finger of God is the Spirit, and its named act is casting out. The demons knew a second act was scheduled and begged not to receive it early; Jesus kept the appointment by not keeping it early, and read Isaiah to the comma. The church has held the commission to cast out for 2,000 years. The invitation at the day of vengeance is not a stronger arm — the arm is God's, the throw is the angels', and no verse gives it to the servant. It is 4 offices: bind what is given you to bind; petition for every creature the Father would keep, and honor the one fence; sit where judgment is given, and do not swing; and lead — as the fit man led the goat, alive, loaded with all sin, to the land not inhabited, and handed him to the angel with the chain. Ten minutes of selfless prayer, in the right season, for His glory. Where no finger takes hold, the sleeve rolls back and the arm acts alone (Isa 59:16; 63:5); the finger is the intercessor, and the bared arm is the shape of its absence. Adam's finger is the slack one. The gap is on our side.
THE SERVANT LEADS; THE ANGEL THROWS; THE THUMB IS GOD'S.
Movement XII — The Register
Sources
1.The finger of God — the 4 canonical uses, and Jesus' own gloss — Exod 8:19; Exod 31:18 with Deut 9:10; Ps 8:3; Luke 11:20 in parallel with Matt 12:28
The phrase appears in 4 settings. EXODUS 8:19 — Pharaoh's magicians, out-performed at the gnats: 'This is the finger of God.' EXODUS 31:18 / DEUTERONOMY 9:10 — the two tables 'written with the finger of God.' PSALM 8:3 — 'the heavens, the work of thy fingers.' And LUKE 11:20 — 'if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you' — where Matthew's parallel (12:28) reads 'by the SPIRIT of God.' The two evangelists record the same saying with the two terms exchanged: on Jesus' own usage, finger of God = Spirit of God, and the paradigm act of that finger is casting out. The Greek of Luke 11:20 is ἐν δακτύλῳ θεοῦ ἐκβάλλω — 'in the finger of God I cast OUT' (ekballō).
2.The demons' clock — Matt 8:29 and Rev 20:10 share a verb; Rev 12:12 and 20:3 share the devil's timetable — Matt 8:29 (Greek: πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι); Rev 20:10 (βασανισθήσονται); Rev 12:12 (ὀλίγον καιρὸν); Rev 20:3 (μικρὸν χρόνον)
At Gadara the demons ask: 'Art thou come hither to TORMENT us BEFORE THE TIME?' — Greek ἦλθες ὧδε πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι ἡμᾶς. The verb is basanizō. Revelation 20:10 says the devil, cast into the lake, 'shall be TORMENTED (βασανισθήσονται) day and night.' Same root. The demons are not afraid of a generic bad outcome; they know a scheduled torment and are asking whether the schedule has been moved up. Their word for the schedule is KAIROS — the appointed season — and the devil's own clock is stated in that word in Revelation 12:12: 'he knoweth that he hath but a short TIME (kairon).' Revelation 20:3 gives the last increment: after his loosing, 'a little season' (μικρὸν χρόνον). The demons of Matthew 8, the dragon of Revelation 12, and the serpent of Revelation 20 are all reading one appointment book.
3.The Nazareth comma — Luke 4:19 stops where Isaiah 61:2 continues — Luke 4:16–21; Isa 61:1–2; Isa 63:4; Isa 34:8; Isa 49:8 with 2 Cor 6:2; John 2:4; John 9:4; John 11:9
In the Nazareth synagogue Jesus reads Isaiah 61 and stops mid-sentence: '...to preach the ACCEPTABLE YEAR of the Lord.' He closes the book and sits. Isaiah 61:2 continues: 'and the DAY OF VENGEANCE of our God.' He read to the comma. The pairing is Isaiah's own grammar, repeated: 63:4 — 'the DAY of vengeance is in mine heart, and the YEAR of my redeemed is come'; 34:8 — 'the DAY of the LORD's vengeance, and the YEAR of recompences.' Year = acceptable, redemption; day = vengeance. Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8 as 'now is the ACCEPTABLE TIME' (2 Cor 6:2) — καιρῷ δεκτῷ, the demons' own word kairos with the Nazareth adjective dektos attached. Cana (John 2:4, 'mine hour is not yet come') shows the same pattern in miniature: the not-yet fences the consummation and does not prevent the act — he says not yet and turns the water anyway. And Jesus states the working-cadence himself: 'I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is DAY: the NIGHT cometh, when no man can work' (John 9:4); 'are there not twelve hours in the day?' (11:9). (John's 'hour' in 2:4 and its siblings — 7:30, 8:20, 12:23, 13:1, 17:1 — is the Passion, not a calendar term; the cadence claim rests on 9:4, 11:9, and Isaiah, not on Cana's vocabulary.)
4.The casting ledger — ballō with ek (out) and with eis (into), and who holds the arm — Luke 12:5; Matt 13:39–42; Matt 22:13; Matt 25:41; Rev 19:20; Rev 20:1–3, 10, 14–15; Mark 16:17; Luke 10:17; Acts 16:18
The Gospels' exorcisms are EKBALLŌ — 'cast OUT' (ek = out of). Revelation 20:10 is ἐβλήθη ΕΙΣ τὴν λίμνην — 'was cast INTO the lake' (eis = into). Same verb ballō, opposite preposition. Who holds the arm for the 'in'? LUKE 12:5 names the authority once: 'Fear him, which after he hath killed hath POWER (exousia) to cast INTO hell (ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς τὴν γέενναν)' — God's. MATTHEW 25:41 names the lake's intended occupant once: 'everlasting fire, PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS' — and the Son of Man executes the sentence by a word, 'depart,' not a throw. The throwing itself is delegated to angels: 'the Son of man shall send forth his ANGELS... and shall cast them INTO a furnace of fire' (Matt 13:41–42, the reapers of 13:39); the king's SERVANTS 'bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into outer darkness' (22:13 — both prepositions in one clause: out of the feast, into the dark); an ANGEL binds the dragon and casts him INTO the abyss (Rev 20:1–3). The remaining 'into' verses — 19:20, 20:10, 20:14–15 — are all passive, agent unnamed, because the chapter has already told you who does the throwing. The 'out' is delegated to the church in plain words: 'In my name shall they cast out devils' (Mark 16:17); 'the devils are subject unto us through thy name' (Luke 10:17); Paul at Philippi (Acts 16:18).
5.The four offices given, and the one reserved — bind, petition, judge, lead; not throw — Matt 16:19; Matt 18:18; Matt 12:29; 1 John 5:16; James 5:16–18; Rev 20:4; Dan 7:22; 1 Cor 6:2–3; Rom 16:20; Luke 10:17–19; Ps 82:6–7 with John 10:34; Lev 16:21
BIND is given in plain words: 'whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven' (Matt 16:19; 18:18), and 'first bind the strong man, and then spoil his house' (12:29). PETITION is open — 'the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much' (James 5:16), with Elijah as the proof case — and fenced exactly once: 'There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it' (1 John 5:16). JUDGE is seated, not swung: 'judgment was given unto them' (Rev 20:4, quoting Dan 7:22 'judgment was given to the saints of the most High'); 'know ye not that we shall judge angels?' (1 Cor 6:3 — the angels of Jude 6 and 2 Pet 2:4, reserved 'unto the judgment of the great day'). Romans 16:20 states the division of labor in one sentence: 'the GOD of peace shall bruise Satan under YOUR feet' — His act, your feet. Luke 10:17–19: the 70 return from delegated casting-out and Jesus says 'I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven' — their work registered in heaven as his fall. PSALM 82 ('ye are gods') is addressed to judges who judge unjustly and 'shall die like men' — a warning attached to the judgment seat, which is how Jesus uses it (John 10:34). And LEAD is the office of Leviticus 16:21: the live goat is sent to the wilderness 'by the hand of a FIT MAN' — Hebrew ish itti, a timely or appointed man, unnamed.
6.The two goats — the one slain, the one sent alive; and the Second Temple reading of the second — Lev 16:5–22; John 11:49–52; Heb 9:9–10, 10:1; 1 Enoch 10:4–8 (WITNESS tier — quoted in Jude 14–15, not canon); Rev 20:1–3, 10
Leviticus 16 sets 2 goats before the LORD. One is slain — its blood carried within the veil. The other is NOT slain: Aaron lays both hands on its head, confesses over it 'all the iniquities of the children of Israel,' and it is sent away ALIVE 'by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness,' to 'a land not inhabited.' Hebrews calls the ritual 'a figure for the time then present' (9:9) and 'a shadow of good things to come' (10:1). The slain goat's antitype is stated by Caiaphas without his understanding it: 'it is expedient that ONE MAN should DIE FOR THE PEOPLE' (John 11:50). The live goat has no stated antitype in the New Testament — but Second Temple Judaism read it, and the reading is on record. 1 ENOCH 10:4–8: Raphael is told to 'bind Azazel hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert... and cast him therein... cover him with darkness, and let him abide there for ever... and on the day of the great judgment he shall be cast into the fire' — and, at 10:8, 'to him ascribe ALL SIN.' That is the sequence of Revelation 20 — bound, abyss, then the fire — with all sin laid on the one sent away alive. Held at WITNESS: not canon, but Jude 14–15 quotes the same book, so it is not unknown to the apostles either. The exhibit's point is the type's shape: the sin-bearer who DIES is Christ; the sin-bearer who is SENT AWAY ALIVE to the abyss and then to the fire is the serpent; and the one who leads him there is a human hand, chosen for the hour, name withheld.
7.Greater works — the reason stated, the hands multiplied, and the every-eye verse — John 14:12; John 16:7; Acts 1:8; Joel 2:28 with Acts 2:17; Luke 10:1, 17–18; Dan 12:4; Rev 1:7
'Greater works than these shall he do; BECAUSE I go unto my Father' (John 14:12). The verse names its own cause: the ascension, which sends the Spirit ('if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you,' 16:7) and multiplies the hands ('ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you,' Acts 1:8; 'I will pour out my spirit upon ALL FLESH,' Joel 2:28). The finger did not get stronger; it got more fingers — a many-membered body as the finger of God. Luke 10 is the demonstration: 70 sent, 70 return with 'even the devils are subject unto us,' and Jesus reports the heavenly ledger: 'I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven' (10:18). DANIEL 12:4 ('knowledge shall be increased') is the end-season signature under which technology enters as a favorable condition — held at WITNESS on the spine, the Spirit being the stated cause. REVELATION 1:7, 'every eye shall see him,' carries both readings without strain: the sky, which every eye on a clear night can see in the course of a 24-hour day; and the broadcast, by which a thing recorded once is seen by all.
8.The living and the dead — Rev 20:12, Rev 21:8, the second death, and the fence on 'any' — Rev 20:11–15; Rev 21:8; Matt 25:41; 2 Pet 3:9; Rom 8:19–22; Col 1:20; Heb 2:16; 2 Pet 2:4; Rev 20:6
The Great White Throne judges 'the DEAD, small and great' (Rev 20:12), out of the books. Revelation 21:8 adjudicates classes in the present tense — 'the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers...' — who 'shall have their PART (meros, an allotment) in the lake': the living, by what they have chosen. After 20:14 ('death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death') there is nothing left to die OF except the lake — which is why 20:6 can promise that on some 'the second death hath no power.' Matthew 25:41 names the lake's original addressee: 'prepared for the devil and his angels'; the living nations are sentenced by a word into a fire prepared for someone else. On the reach of 2 Peter 3:9 ('not willing that ANY should perish'): Romans 8:21 ('the creature itself also shall be delivered') and Colossians 1:20 ('reconcile ALL THINGS... in earth, or things in heaven') support extending 'any' past Adam to the creation; Hebrews 2:16 ('not the nature of angels') and 2 Peter 2:4 ('spared not the angels that sinned') mark where the reach stops.
9.The asymmetry — the promises of concentrated potency, and the restraint that holds it back — Phil 4:13; 1 John 4:4; Zech 4:6; Isa 64:6; Isa 55:8–9; Phil 2:9; John 3:30; James 5:16; 2 Cor 12:9; Ps 82:6; John 15:5; Ps 127:1; 2 Pet 3:9
'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me' (Phil 4:13). 'Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world' (1 John 4:4). 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit' (Zech 4:6). 'All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags' (Isa 64:6). 'My ways higher than your ways' (Isa 55:9). 'A name which is above every name' (Phil 2:9). 'He must increase, but I must decrease' (John 3:30). 'The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much' (James 5:16). 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in WEAKNESS' (2 Cor 12:9). 'Ye are gods' (Ps 82:6). And the hinge: 'without me ye can do NOTHING' (John 15:5) — the same nothing in which, per Philippians 4:13, all things become possible. Read together, the promises describe not only sovereignty but an extreme concentration of the power to change outcomes — held back on purpose: 'not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance' (2 Pet 3:9). The restraint is not weakness; it is the acceptable time.
10.The Creation of Adam — the neuroanatomical reading of the cloud, and the slack finger — Michelangelo, Sistine Chapel ceiling (1508–1512); F. L. Meshberger, 'An Interpretation of Michelangelo's Creation of Adam Based on Neuroanatomy,' JAMA 264:14 (Oct 1990) 1837–41
In 1990 the physician Frank Meshberger published in JAMA an observation now widely repeated: the cloak-and-cloud surrounding God in Michelangelo's Creation of Adam matches the outline of a sagittal section of the human brain — the Sylvian fissure, the brainstem, the pituitary — with God's extended arm running along the line of the prefrontal cortex. Michelangelo dissected cadavers; the reading is plausible and unproven, and this exhibit files it at WINK: noticed, not argued. What needs no anatomy to see is the gesture. God's finger is extended, taut, reaching; Adam's is slack, half-raised, the wrist unbent. The gap between them is on the man's side. The Imago Dei, on this reading, depicts consciousness receiving its charge — and the finger, in the same image, is both the giver's instrument and the receiver's answer.
11.Redeeming the time — the imperative, and the order of the watch — Eph 5:15–16; Col 4:5; Ps 90:12; Neh 4:9; 1 Pet 4:17; Matt 26:40–41; Luke 18:1–8; Luke 21:36
'Redeeming the time (ἐξαγοραζόμενοι τὸν καιρόν — buying back the kairos), because the days are evil' (Eph 5:16; Col 4:5). 'Teach us to number our days' (Ps 90:12). Nehemiah's order is the model for a servant who prays and works: 'we made our prayer unto our God, AND set a watch' (4:9). Peter's order of proceedings: 'judgment must begin at the house of God' (1 Pet 4:17). The 10 minutes of Gethsemane are the negative example — 'could ye not watch with me one hour?' (Matt 26:40). Luke 18:1–8 gives the widow's persistence and the season's question in one parable: 'when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?' And Luke 21:36: 'Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy... to stand before the Son of man.' Kairos is bought back by the servant who knows what season it is, what the finger is permitted to do in it, and whose glory the petition is for.
12.Isaiah 63–66 — the day of vengeance as a sequence, with the Spirit named inside it — Isa 63:1–6; 63:10–11; 63:15–64:12; 65:1, 17, 24–25; 66:2, 8, 15–16, 22–24; Mark 1:10 (σχιζομένους) with Mark 15:38; Matt 3:16 / Luke 3:21 (ἀνοίγω = LXX Isa 64:1); Rev 19:11–15; Acts 7:56
Read from 63:4 forward, Isaiah's last 4 chapters run as 1 sequence. 63:1–6: the treader of the winepress — 'the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come' (63:4) — 'and I looked, and there was none to help... therefore mine own ARM brought salvation' (63:5): arm, not finger; alone. Revelation 19:11–15 quotes this scene directly: heaven opened, then the winepress. 63:10–11: 'his holy Spirit' — the only 2 occurrences of the phrase in Isaiah, both in the day-of-vengeance chapter; on Luke 11:20 / Matt 12:28, that is the finger appearing under its other name exactly here. 63:15–64:12: the remnant's petition — 'Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down... as when the melting fire burneth' (64:1); 'all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags' (64:6); 'there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to TAKE HOLD of thee' (64:7) — the complaint is not that God is absent but that no hand grips. 65:1: 'I am sought of them that asked not for me.' 65:17: new heavens and a new earth. 65:24: 'before they call, I will answer' — the petition's loop shortens. 65:25: 'dust shall be the serpent's meat' — Genesis 3:14 consummated inside the new-creation passage. 66:2: 'to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit.' 66:8: a nation born in a day. 66:15–16: 'the LORD will come with fire... by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh.' 66:24: 'their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched' — the verse Jesus uses for Gehenna (Mark 9:48). Who rends the heaven? The petition asks the Father to (64:1), and the Gospels record Him doing it once, at the baptism: Mark writes the heavens σχιζομένους, TORN — the verb he uses only one other time, for the veil (15:38), and the verb that matches the Hebrew qara'; Matthew and Luke write ἀνοίγω, opened, the LXX's own word in 64:1. Both Gospel vocabularies are Isaiah 64:1 vocabularies, and what descends through the rent is the Spirit — the finger. Stephen sees the heaven opened while praying for his killers (Acts 7:56); John sees it opened onto the winepress (Rev 19:11).
13.The bare arm — Isa 52:10 with 53:1, 51:9, 59:16; the arm bares where no intercessor is found — Isa 52:10; Isa 53:1; Isa 51:9; Isa 59:16 with Isa 63:5; Isa 2:4; Luke 9:54–56 (the fire refused); James 5:17 with 1 Kgs 18
'The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God' (52:10). The very next verses identify the arm: 'to whom is the ARM of the LORD revealed?' (53:1) — and the answer is the Suffering Servant of chapter 53. Isaiah's arm is petitioned like the heavens: 'Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD' (51:9). And Isaiah says twice, in the same words, WHEN the arm bares: 'he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was NO INTERCESSOR: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him' (59:16); 'I looked, and there was none to help... therefore mine own arm brought salvation' (63:5). The arm is not bared because the finger failed. It is bared where no finger takes hold — where the intercessor is missing (64:7). That is the whole relation between the two: the finger IS the intercessor; the sleeve rolls up in his absence. Isaiah 2:4 is the day's civil result — swords into plowshares, 'neither shall they learn war any more.' Luke 9:54–56 marks the season boundary from the disciples' side: they ask for fire 'even as Elias did' (1 Kgs 18; James 5:17), and are told 'ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of... the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them' — a day-of-vengeance act requested during the acceptable year, and refused.
